Privacy
We collect what we need to price your windows and book a visit, and nothing else. This page says what that is, in plain terms, as British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act asks us to.
What we collect, and why
- When you ask for a quote or a measure: your name, phone number, email, town and a note about the project. We use it to call you back, book the visit and send the quote.
- When you use the online estimator: the same details, plus the window sizes you enter and any photos you attach. We use them to price your list. Photos are of your house, so we treat them like your address.
- When you visit the site: which pages you looked at, how you got here (a search engine, a link on our Google listing, a door hanger) and whether you tapped the phone number. This is Google Analytics, in aggregate, and it tells us which of our efforts bring people in. Your quote request also carries the page you arrived on and the link you came from, so we can tell a door-hanger lead from a web search lead.
- When you become a customer: your address, the quote, the measurements and the paperwork for the job, the rebate and the installation warranty.
Where it goes
Quote requests reach us by email and are kept in our email and quoting system. The website runs on Cloudflare, form emails are sent through Resend, and the analytics are Google's. Each of those providers handles the data under its own privacy policy, and some of them store it outside Canada. We do not sell your details, rent them, or hand them to anyone who is not working on your job.
Messages from us
If you ask for a quote, we will call, text or email about that quote. Reply STOP to a text, or tell us by email or phone, and we stop the same day. We do not add quote requests to a newsletter; we do not run one.
How long we keep it
Quote requests that do not become jobs are deleted after a year. Customer records are kept for the life of the installation warranty plus the years the tax rules require, then deleted.
Seeing, correcting or removing your details
Email hello@straitview.ca or call 778-562-6714. We will show you what we hold, fix anything wrong, or delete it, unless the law makes us keep a copy. If you are not satisfied with how we handled it, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
